I ordered this all metal VMH500 and it’s a bit smaller than the original and it’s extremely quiet. It gave off an odor when I plugged it in and I was worried for the small parrot I own - birds are extremely sensitive to air quality. I initially replaced my old one with a Vornado that I thought was metal but turned out to be plastic. I was worried that this model Vornado wouldn’t be as good as the old one that I used for many years, but for the most part it’s better: smaller, quieter and well designed. Great little heater and safe for my bird.
